Michael has spent the last 16 years working with technology start-up companies in sectors such as video streaming, meta search engines, interactive advertising and web hosting, among others. This led to Michael’s involvement in Mobile payments and co-founding AnywhereCommerce.
Michael incubated mamma.com (NASDAQ: MAMA) into a successful public company reaching a $200M market cap. Michael is a skilled connector and plays an active strategic role in all his businesses. He is a board member of Sprylogics Corporation, a CDNX Public company and serves as an independent director and Chairman of the Audit Committee. Michael won the Pro Montreal Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2000. He began his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young where he became a Chartered Accountant and gained valuable lifelong experience. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University, a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University and is a CPA.
O.B. Rawls, IV
O.B. leads TASQ Technology’s North American sales team. He has over 30 years of experience in the banking and electronic transaction payments business. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Sales globally for Hypercom Corporation and also served as head of Hypercom’s European and North American Operations. Prior to joining Hypercom, O.B. was the Executive Vice President of Operations, at Caredata.com, a health care information technology company. At Caredata.com, he was instrumental in creating, implementing, and directing key operational and sales initiatives. Before joining Caredata.com, O.B. held executive and general management positions with First Data Corporation. O.B. has served as president of Unified Merchant Services, and senior vice president division executive of Merchant Card Services. He has held executive management positions with NationsBank and its predecessor, NCNB National Bank.
Christopher Justice is a dynamic executive leader with over 20 years of experience delivering results. As CEO of CenPOS, a merchant-centric, end-to-end payments engine that drives enterprise-class solutions for businesses, Chris is responsible for driving strategy and performance across channels that include mobile, web, and face-to-face. As former President of Ingenico, a global leader in payment devices, Chris was responsible for driving Ingenico’s development strategy in the US and Canada. Prior to Ingenico, Chris was President and CEO of Merchant Link, an electronic payments gateway and services organization serving 120,000 merchants and processing over 2 billion payment transactions annually.
Chris is an active member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and is a founding member of the PCI committee of the Retail Solution Provider’s Association (RSPA). Chris is a graduate of the University of Tennessee.
Dickson is an accomplished General Manager and innovative product builder with over 25 years of experience working at the intersection of Financial Services, customer insights and the strategic use of technology. He is an active advisor to a number of emerging companies, such as Sequent Software, Leapset and Shopilly, who are working to define the next generation of mobile commerce and advertising. Most recently Dickson was SVP Merchant Solutions at LivingSocial where he was charged with creating a new business unit to go beyond the ‘daily deal’. Prior to that he was Managing Director of Digital Networks in the newly created Citi business unit, Global Enterprise Payments (GEP).
Before joining Citi in April, 2010, Dickson was Vice President of Global Product and Experience for PayPal Inc. In this role, he led product strategy, development and user experience design for the millions of PayPal consumers and merchant customers around the world.
Prior to PayPal, he was General Manager for Yahoo! PayDirect, where he transformed the domestic P2P payments business into an Internet based international money transfer service in partnership with MoneyGram. Dickson received his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s College of California.
Des Docherty has been with Visa for more than 15 years and has experience in executive-level business development. Des brings a highly desirable perspective to the payment industry. His professional philosophy is one dedicated to focusing on the distinct and individual needs of each client and is demonstrated by his ability to cultivate and sustain long-term relationships. As with business development, he believes that each partner/client deserves a clear return on their investment – whether it is investment in a new payment solution or investment in time working with a payment professional.
Although a resident of the USA, Des was born and educated in Glasgow, Scotland.
Najeeb Khalid is the founder and CEO of Escher-Grad Technologies Inc. During the past nineteen years, Najeeb has applied his unique vision as a scientist and an engineer, a business executive and an educator, to build the company into one of the leading innovators in the field of laser imaging technology systems for the graphic arts and printed circuit board industries.
Najeeb began his engineering research career in 1972 with Phillips Research Laboratories in The Netherlands. The following year, Najeeb came to Canada and started the development and sales of large transaction processing real-time systems under the name of Rank Peripheral Systems. In 1983, Najeeb founded Orexis Informatiques, Inc., which designed and manufactured EPT-POS terminals with DES encryption. He is also the founder of Gage Applied Sciences, an advanced technology company that was sold to Tektronics.
As an educator, Najeeb has been associated with various universities as a professor in Pakistan, McGill University, Concordia University and Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal Canada. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Montreal Neurological Institute, a centre of excellence in neurosciences with worldwide recognition.
